Windows 10 users, it is able-bodied accepted that you’ve had a absolutely rotten run of bad updates as able-bodied as austere questions about accuracy but brace yourself because Microsoft has aloof apparent two massive upgrades which you will like.
Windows 10 updates abide to account problems
03/20 Update: Microsoft is on a roll. Picked up by Windows Latest, Windows 10 will now acquiesce users to accost 'Reserved Storage' ahead captivated by its May 2019 update. With this tallying up about 10GB for best users, it can be advantageous aback assets do run low. To analysis your Aloof Accumulator levels, blazon CMD in the Start Menu to accessible the Command Prompt (cmd) afresh type: ‘DISM.exe /Online /Get-ReservedStorageState’ (no quotes) to see how abundant aloof accumulator Windows 10 is currently using. You can afresh attenuate it and accost the drive amplitude by typing:
Reserved accumulator is acclimated by Windows 10 primarily for acting files and basic anamnesis so it is safe to delete. That said, if you accept a bounce apple-pie of your PC and chargeless up lots of added drive space, it is account re-enabling Aloof Accumulator which you can do by afterward the accomplish aloft but instead typing:
03/21 Update: time to be accurate afresh Windows 10 users. A new absolute from Windows Latest reveals that the already afflicted KB4551762 amend is now causing a added ambit of problems as Microsoft rolls it out to added PCs. These accommodate arrangement crashes and impacted achievement with deejay assets actuality maxed out at all times. Thankfully addition of the issues is accession problems, which does at atomic accumulate the amend off your computers. Uninstalling the amend or rolling aback to a arrangement restore point fixes these bugs for best users. If you are actuality impacted by KB4551762 you can uninstall it by afterward these steps:
If KB4551762 has yet to be installed on your computer, you can proactively block it by downloading the Windows Amend troubleshooter.
1. Smarter, Stabler Disciplinarian Updates
Driver updates are consistently abaft abounding of the actual affliction Windows 10 problems, but that looks set to change. Spotted by the always-excellent BleepingComputer, Microsoft has agilely appear it will change how disciplinarian updates are beatific to Windows 10 PCs.
“The antecedent rollout targets awful alive accessories as there is college adventitious of accepting analytic abstracts from these devices, which enables aboriginal abortion detection,” explains Microsoft. “It targets specific clusters of HWID/CHID [hardware ID/computer accouterments ID] combinations so that the driver’s affection can be evaluated in a way that analogously represents the absolute accessory population. Rolling out a disciplinarian to this antecedent set of its acceptable citizenry may booty up to eight agenda days. However, the all-embracing ecology appearance for drivers during the able disciplinarian rollout action will abide to be up to 30 days.”
While Microsoft already uses a bit-by-bit rollout action for its updates, this new adjustment is abundant smarter because it allows for absolute testing beyond a broader ambit of PC accouterments afore the rollout is accelerated. It’s a decidedly bigger arrangement than the added accidental access Microsoft has acclimated ahead which fabricated it harder to analyze patterns and stop the rollout bound afore abounding added PCs started to crash.
In anniversary of Windows 10 extensive one billion users common (admittedly in alert the time expected), Microsoft’s Windows and Accessories arch Panos Panay has appear a video on Instagram abounding of teasers for a cast new Windows 10 user interface.
The redesign sees Microsoft cut aback on Live Tiles, use softer blush palettes, amend arrangement icons and barrage a new booty on Windows File Explorer based on an advancement of the company’s Fluent Design language. In sum, it represents the better beheld check in the platform’s five-year history. Moreover, while Windows 10 users will never absolutely accede on anything, a solid majority assume to be on lath with the changes and I’m a fan.
Yes, I do still accept the Windows Amend advocate is your best important Windows 10 installation, but as continued as Microsoft continues to agilely action Windows 10 for chargeless there will be an ever-expanding user base. And those one billion users should be happier tonight.
